So far we are enjoying being in Charlotte and with Kyra & Kenny. We got to their house at 4:00, after following the map on our phone that looked like a good route, but took us from a nice freeway to the main street of a small town and felt like it took forever. We took the tour of their house & projects they've been working on & want Mike to finish, then unloaded the 5x8 trailer full of their stuff that we hauled across America behind the motorhome.
We went to dinner at Chili's - we tried Cheddar's but they couldn't accomodate 9 people, even though there was no line :(
Then hit Sam's Club in search of Blue Bell ice cream and Home Depot for some electrical supplies for their house.
We all rode in the motorhome & drove to Harrisburg to watch a 4th of July fireworks show. We parked in a field, pulled out a picnic blanket & chairs and ate our ice cream while we waited for the sky to light up. Mike commented, "Blue Bell ice cream, fireflies, and fireworks - doesn't get any better". Especially since our whole family is together. Kennedy slept in the RV the whole time.
We all went to Sacrament this morning in their car & truck. The girls LOVE Kennedy!!! Somer is constantly by her and asks lots of questions.
It's sounds like a great trip! Thanks for sharing some of the "little" details. Say Hi to Kyra, Kenny and Kennedy for us. We love you be safe..
ReplyDeleteIs that check engine light still on?
When we scanned the engine Mike was able to erase the codes so that turned it off. It has not come back on. But he bought a furl pump back in Flagstaff, before the light came, thinking that was what was causing the sputtering, but the tank was full and we have been saving it just in case it goes out. He thinks from the codes that he needs to replace the EGR valve and some ignition parts so he will probably work on it now that we are at Kyra's. It drove pretty good the rest of the way, but we tensed up going up grades and on rough, bumpy roads and cringed at every "off" noise. Everything else on it works great! We just bought it about 3 weeks before our trip and already changed the transmission within the first week. That's why we have been so worried.
